
Orange Head to ITA Regional Championships

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - All eight of Syracuse tennis team's student-athletes are back in action this weekend when the Orange travel to the 2018 ITA Northeast Regional Championships in New Haven, Conn. The tournament, hosted by Yale, includes both singles and doubles draws.
ORANGE SINGLES
Junior Miranda Ramirez is the highest-ranked Syracuse singles competitor in this weekend's tournament as the fourth seed. She, along with teammates freshman Sofya Treshcheva, sophomore Sofya Golubovskaya, junior Guzal Yusupova and senior Dina Hegab, have first-round byes in the singles draw.
Senior Libi Mesh is also set to compete in the singles competition, playing Yale's Jessie Gong in the first round.Â
ORANGE DOUBLES
Senior Gabriela Knutson and Yusupova will team up in doubles this weekend. The Orange duo is the tournament's highest-ranked pair, and they will face Binghamton's Michelle Eisenberg and Tiffany Dun in the first round.
Senior Maria Tritou and Hegab are paired, taking on Seton Hall's duo of Anicka Fajnorova and Regina Pitts in the first round. Golubovskaya and Treshcheva, meanwhile, play UConn's Julieanne Bou and Gillian Perrotta.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Orange next play at the Harvard Invitational in Cambridge, Mass., from Nov. 2-4.
