Orange Continue Climb in National Polls

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse moved up three spots to No. 4 in this week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association rankings. The Orange remained at No. 5 in the Cascade Media Poll.

Maryland stays atop the IWLCA Poll this week, followed by Stony Brook and Florida. Seven other ACC teams join Syracuse in the Top 25, including No. 5 Boston College, No. 7. North Carolina, No. 13 Duke, No. 16 Virginia, No. 18 Notre Dame and No. 25 Virginia Tech.

The Terrapins also are No. 1 in the media rankings. Stony Brook comes in at No. 2, followed by Boston College and Florida.

Syracuse improved to 2-0 this season with a 17-11 win on the road against Oregon. The Orange offense featured scoring from nine different players. Freshman Molly Carter and senior Taylor Gait led the way with three goals apiece. Senior Neena Merola, junior Nicole Levy, sophomore Emily Hawryschuk and freshman Sam Swart each added two goals.

Syracuse will match up with Albany (0-1) on Thursday, February 22nd at 5 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. Admission and parking are free of charge.
