Strautmane Repeats as ACC Rookie of the Week

For the third-consecutive week a member of the Syracuse University women's basketball team has earned Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honors. Digna Strautmane is this this week's ACC Rookie of the week for her efforts in a pair of home games against Virginia Tech and No. 4 Louisville from Jan. 29-Feb.4.

The freshman forward becomes the first Orange to earn back-to-back ACC Rookie of the Week accolades and picks up the third weekly award in her young career.

Strautmane posted back-to-back 20-point performances for 'Cuse and currently rides a five-game streak scoring in double figures. She averaged 21.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in the 0-2 week for the Orange and led the team in scoring in both outings including 22 points against the Cardinals on Sunday. She currently ranks fourth amongst all ACC rookies in scoring with 10.4 points per game.

In her last four games, the Latvia native has averaged 20.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. During that stretch, she is shooting a team-best 49.3 percent from the field and is 11-for-33 from 3-point range.

Strautmane and the Orange return to action on Sunday, Feb. 11, when they face Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C., at 2 p.m., Fans can catch the action live on ACC Network Extra.
