Knight Leads Nation; Stoner Shatters Record

Paige Stoner shattered her own school record in the 5k and Justyn Knight turned in the nation's fastest time in the 5000-meters to win at the Iowa State Classic.
Knight turned in a time of 13:39.59 to hold off a talented group of All-Americans and pick up another win. The Bowerman award hopeful now owns the nation's best time in the 5000-meters, 3000-meters and the third-fastest time in the mile this season.
Stoner bested her previous record by a full 20 seconds, becoming the first woman at Syracuse to go under 16 minutes in the event during the indoor season. She closed in 15:44.04, taking second to Jessica Drop of Georgia. Stoner's time is good for fifth-fastest nationally this season.
In addition to Knight, Philo Germano and Iliass Aouani each competed in the 5k as well. Aouani was in Knight's section and finished 17th in 14:05.04. Germano took 22nd, crossing the line in 14:17.36 in his section.
Aidan Tooker was the final competitor on the day for 'Cuse. He took 10th in the 3000-meters, finishing in 7:56.57.
'Cuse is back in action on Saturday at the BU Valentine Invitational.
