THE GAME
-Â Syracuse hits the road in the middle of its stretch of seven-straight games against ranked opponents.
-Â The game will be broadcast on ESPNU, with Anish Shroff on play-by-play and Ryan Boyle on color. Brian Higgins and Kyle Fetterly will carry the game on TK99/105 and Drew Carter and Tyler Aki broadcasting the game for WAER.
THE DUKE SERIES
-Â The Orange and the Blue Devils face off Saturday for the 18th time, with the Orange entering the game holding an 11-6 advantage in the series.
-Â Syracuse and Duke split two games against each other last season. The Blue Devils took the regular season matchup, in overtime, while the Orange enacted its revenge in the ACC Championship.
-Â Head coach John Desko is 8-5 all-time against Duke.
- In last season's only meeting between the two programs, Jamie Trimboli netted the overtime game-winning goal in his first career start to propel the Orange to victory. Syracuse has won two in a row vs. the Blue Devils and five of the last-six meetings.
CONFERENCE KINGSÂ
-Â This weekend's match-up with Duke marks the second game of ACC-play for Syracuse.
-Â 'Cuse is 1-0 in league play this season and has won six-straight conference games heading into Saturday's game. The last time the Orange lost was against Notre Dame in the 2016 season. The last road conference loss was at Koskinen Stadium in 2016, with Syracuse winning three-straight ACC road games since then.
-Â Since joining the ACC in 2014, Syracuse is 11-7 in regular season conference play.
YOUTH MOVEMENT
-Â Jamie Trimboli accomplished the rare feat of breaking into the Orange's starting lineup as a true freshman in 2017.
-Â Doing it as an offensive player is even more astonishing, he's the first offensive player to start 10-or-more games for Syracuse since Pat Perritt in 2006.
-Â Trimboli started 10 games, and appeared in all-16, registering 13 goals and two assists on the first midfield line.
-Â This season, he's the elder statesman, with Tucker Dordevic and Brendan Curry also starting. If the current line stays the same, Syracuse would have three true freshman starting 10-or-more games on the offensive side of the field in the last-two seasons. They hadn't had one player do so in 11 years prior.
A WIN AGAINST DUKE WOULD...
-Â Be the program's 899th victory, second all-time behind Johns Hopkins.
-Â Improve SU's record to 53-17 since the start of the 2014 season
- Give John Desko his 240th career coaching win, fifth among active Division I coaches and 25th all-time at the NCAA Division I level.
