
Germano Wins ECAC/IC4A Mile Championship

Philo Germano won the ECAC/IC4A Championship in the men's mile today, crossing the line in 4:04.92 to take the title.
Germano shaved eight seconds off his prelim time, and managed to edge Liberty's Colin Shultz at the line by 0.02 seconds. Teammate Simon Smith was also in the race, finishing in fourth, with a time of 4:07.23.
With those two alone, Syracuse managed to collect 15 points at the meet, and finish 15th overall.
Next up for the Orange, 'Cuse will send four student-athletes to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in College Station, Texas. Justyn Knight enters as the meet favorite in the 3000-meters and also has the nation's second-fastest 5k time. Paige Stoner (5k), Angelo Goss (60H) and Matt Moore (60H) will also compete for SU.
Action gets underway on Friday.
