
Orange Climb to 30th in Oracle/ITA Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Syracuse tennis team continues to impress nationally, checking in at No. 30 in the Oracle/ITA Tennis National Team Rankings. Thirtieth is the highest the team has reached in the national rankings this season and the second-highest in program history.
Syracuse is coming off a 1-1 weekend after facing two top-30 teams, No. 30 Virginia Tech and No. 1 North Carolina. The Orange posted a 5-2 victory over Virginia Tech for their ninth win of the season before falling to the top-ranked Tar Heels, 6-1.
Junior Gabriela Knutson defeated a pair of ranked opponents this weekend, including No. 8 Alle Sanford of North Carolina to remain perfect, 9-0, at the No. 1 singles position this season. Her stellar performance rockets her to 11th nationally in the Oracle/ITA Singles Rankings. She remains the highest-ranked Syracuse tennis player in program history.
After going 1-1 in doubles action, the duo of Knutson and Ramirez jump to No. 17 in the Oracle/ITA Doubles Rankings, two spots above their previous ranking. The pair has placed in the top-20 in three consecutive rankings.
The Orange are back in action on Tuesday, March 13 when they travel to Boca Raton, Fla. to take on Florida Atlantic University. First serve is set for 9 a.m.
