Women's Rowing Has Strong Showing in First Races at Clemson Invite

CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 17 Syracuse women's rowing team began action at the Clemson Invitational Friday evening after weather rearranged the schedule of events. The Orange placed third in the first flight of varsity eight races clocking a 6:25.47 and finishing behind Ohio State and Southern California.
Syracuse claimed third place finishes in the second varsity eight (heat one), varsity four (heat one) and third varsity eight (heat one). Additionally, 'Cuse's second varsity four boat earned a second-place finish in the second heat.
Action resumes Saturday morning when the Orange will face Tulsa, Oklahoma, Indiana, Virginia, Oregon State and Boston University in the second flight of the first varsity eight preliminaries.
