Brittney Sykes Selected for National Team Camp in Seattle

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Syracuse University women's basketball alum and current WNBA Atlanta Dream guard Brittney Sykes is one of 19 members of the 2018-20 USA Women's National Team athlete pool expected to participate in the USWNT's April 24-26 camp in Seattle.
Sykes, a 2017 WNBA All-Rookie Team selection, was named to the national team pool in February after attending the February 9-11 team camp in Columbia, S.C.
The three-day camp will end with an exhibition game against Chinese National Team on April 26 at KeyArena. The final USA roster for the game will be comprised of athletes that participate in the team camp and will be announced the day prior.
Sykes will be joined at team camp with Atlanta Dream teammates Layshia Clarendon, Tiffany Hayes, and Elizabeth Williams.
Seattle's camp will be the third in USA's preparations for the 2018 FIBA World Cup, which will be held Sept. 22-20 in Tenerife, Spain.
Sykes was drafted in the first round (seventh overall) of the 2017 WNBA Draft and led all first-year players in scoring and rebounding en route to being named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team. During her time at 'Cuse, she helped the Orange to four NCAA Tournament appearances (2014-15, 2016-17) and was a key component to Syracuse's 2016 Final Four run in 2016.
