CORVALLIS, Ore. – Syracuse opens the 2018 campaign on Friday, Aug. 24 at Oregon State at 8 p.m. Eastern time. The match is part of the Hensor/Zaher Classic.

A LOOK AT THE ORANGE
Syracuse welcomes back 16 players from last year's squad, including its starting defense and five of its top six scorers. Senior Hendrik Hilpert will be in goal for the Orange for the fourth consecutive year. The Orange roster includes 10 newcomers, three of which are transfers.

HILPERT CLIMBING SCHOOL RECORD LIST
Senior Hendrik Hilpert has put his name among the all-time leaders on Syracuse's career record lists. Hilpert recorded his 19th career shutout in last year's regular-season finale at Wake Forest. He now has sole possession of fourth place on the school's career leader list. In addition, Hilpert has 28 career wins, which give him sole possession of fourth place on the Syracuse all-time record list.

TEAM CAPTAINS
Seniors Hendrik Hilpert and Kamal Miller will serve as team captains this season. Both are four-year starters for the Orange.

WELCOME BACK
Syracuse fans will see a couple of familiar faces on the Orange sidelines this season. Ben Polk returns to Syracuse as a student assistant coach, while Liam Callahan is a player development assistant. Both were members of Syracuse's College Cup team in 2015.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
Oregon State finished last season with a 7-11 record, which included a 5-4 record on its home pitch. Senior Don Tchilao was selected to the All-Pac-12 Preseason Team. Last season, he recorded nine points on four goals and an assist. Tchilao was second on the team in scoring behind Jordan Jones, who registered 13 points. Redshirt senior Ryan Vincent started eight games in 2017. He recorded a 1.62 goals-against average and a .639 save percentage. Terry Boss is in his first season at the helm of the Oregon State program. He spent the last four years as an assistant coach/associate head coach at Virginia.

THE SERIES
Syracuse and Oregon State will meet for the second consecutive season. The Orange won the only other meeting between the two schools, 3-2, at the SU Soccer Stadium in 2017.
