BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Syracuse returns to ACC play when it faces No. 21/-- Virginia Tech on Friday, Sept. 28 in Blacksburg, Va. Match time is set for 7 p.m.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse is coming off a 1-1 tie against Colgate, making its record 3-3-1. Sophomore Sondre Norheim netted his second goal of the year against the Raiders. The Orange are looking to get their first conference win against the Hokies, who are ranked No. 21 in the United Soccer Coaches poll.

SCOUTING THE HOKIES
Virginia Tech enters the match with an overall record of 5-2-2, which includes a 0-2-1 mark in conference play. The Hokies are coming off a 1-0 loss against No. 12/8 NC State.

Kristo Strickler leads Virginia Tech's offense with 10 points on five goals. He ranks third in the ACC in goals. James Kasak leads the team in assists with three.

Mathijis Swaneveld has played all 860 minutes in net for the Hokies. He has a GAA of 0.94 and a save percentage of .847. Swaneveld leads the ACC in saves with 50.

THE SERIES
The series between the Orange and Hokies dates back to 2001. Virginia Tech leads the series, 4-2, but the Orange have won the last two contests between the squads. The last meeting took place on Oct. 14, 2016 at the SU Soccer Stadium. Sergio Camargo scored his first goal as a member of the Orange in the 64th minute to give Syracuse a 1-0 victory.
