DURHAM, N.C. -- Syracuse looks to start the month of October off with an ACC win on the road against No. 18 Duke on Friday, Oct. 4. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Durham, N.C.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse's match against UAlbany was cancelled due to the weather forecast on Tuesday night. Â Last Friday, the Orange tied ACC foe Pittsburgh, 1-1. Syracuse has recorded ties in four of its last seven matches this season, giving them a 3-2-4 overall record, including a 0-1-2 mark in the ACC. Â Syracuse finished the past four seasons with four ties each. The Orange have seven regular-season matches remaining. The last time the Orange had more than four ties was in 2010, when they posted five.

Sophomore Hilli Goldhar scored his first goal of the season off an assist from senior Massimo Ferrin against the Panthers. The goal came in the 18th minute to give the Orange a 1-0 lead. Pittsburgh evened the game in the 36th minute. Goalkeeper Christian Miesch made a season-high eight saves to secure the draw for the Orange. Miesch has a goals-against average of 1.03 and a .765 save percentage this season.

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS
Duke tied Wright State, 2-2, in its last match. The Blue Devils had a 2-1 lead in the 64th minute but was not able to hold on and had to settle for a tie. Duke is now 5-3-1, including 1-2-0 in ACC play. The Blue Devils made a jump from receiving votes to No. 18 in the United Soccer Coaches poll this week after upsetting then No. 14 North Carolina last Friday.

Leading the Blue Devils this season is senior Daniele Prosch. He has seven goals this season, which rank fourth in the ACC. Prosch also ranks fourth in points with 16. Senior Max Moser has four assists on the season, which lead the team and are tied for fifth in the ACC. Junior Will Pulisic has played every minute in goal for the Blue Devils. He has a 1.41 goals against average and a .745 save percentage. Pulisic leads the ACC in saves with 38.

John Kerr has been at the helm of the Duke program for 12 years. Last season, the Blue Devils ranked as high as No. 2 and made their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Friday match marks the sixth meeting between the Orange and Blue Devils. Syracuse leads the all-time series, 3-2, but Duke was able to come away with a 2-1 win in 2017 at the SU Soccer Stadium. The Orange won the three matches prior to 2017, including a 2-0 win in the 2014 ACC Tournament.
