SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The 17th-ranked Orange (3-0) host No. 1 Oregon (3-0) Sunday, Nov. 24, at 4 p.m. at the Carrier Dome. This marks the first time Syracuse has welcomed a top-ranked team to the Dome since hosting former BIG EAST foe UConn in 2010. Syracuse's first top-20 matchup the season will be broadcast live on ACC Network (ACCN) with Monica McNutt and Jenn Hildreth on the call. For those planning to attend, fans are encouraged to wear orange or white to 'stripe out' the Dome Sunday afternoon. Â
Â
The Orange and Ducks met in Eugene last season when 'Cuse took then-No. 3 Oregon to the wire before the Ducks escaped with a 75-73 win. The Orange had nine different players score in the loss, including Emily Engstler who scored nine points on four-of-seven shooting to go along with six rebounds. This season, the sophomore forward is averaging a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds per game.
Â
'Cuse is 3-0 this season, most recently defeating Albany, 75-53. Kiara Lewis led all scorers with 17 points against the Great Danes, while Engstler recorded her second-straight double-double with 14 points and 10 boards. Senior Gabrielle Cooper added 10 points and six rebounds in her 100th career start for the Orange. Syracuse scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Great Danes. Â
Â
Lewis, Engstler, Cooper and Digna Strautmane all average double figures in scoring this season. The Orange have four players averaging at least five rebounds per game, contributing to a team average 47.7 rebounds per game, which ranks No. 26 in the nation.
Â
The top-ranked Ducks are undefeated through three games this season, and they are outscoring their opponents by 45.0 points per game – the fourth best scoring margin in the country. Forward Ruthy Hebard guides the second-ranked scoring offense in the nation with 23.7 points and 13.3 rebounds per game, ranking top-10 in the NCAA in both categories. The Ducks have averaged 99.0 points per game this season. Sabrina Ionescu is averaging a triple-double and enters Sunday's game coming off her NCAA-record 19th career triple double.
Â
Following a matchup with the Ducks, the Orange travel up north to compete in the 2019 Greater Victoria Invitational in Victoria, British Columbia. The tournament kicks off for 'Cuse on Thursday, Nov. 28 at 8 p.m. against Houston. Syracuse will then play a game on each of the two following days with opponents to be announced.
