Hawryschuk Earns ACC Player of the Week Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse junior Emily Hawryschuk has been named ACC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week the league announced on Tuesday, Feb. 26. Hawryschuk recorded eight points in two games last week, helping the Orange to a pair of victories.

Hawryschuk helped Syracuse upset No. 4/5 Northwestern with five points on four goals and an assist and four draw controls. Her fourth goal of the day came 1:54 into overtime to give the Orange a 15-14 victory. Hawryschuk also had three points in Syracuse's 18-5 win against Coastal Carolina. Her two assists against the Chanticleers tied her career high.

The Victor, N.Y. native leads Syracuse in points (20) and goals (14) this season. She has posted four goals in three of five games this season.

Hawryschuk and the Orange are back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 27 when they host No. 13/12 Loyola in the Carrier Dome. It is Syracuse's Pink Out Game and all fans are encouraged to wear pink. Admission and parking are free. The game will also be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
