Levy, Hawryschuk Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List

NEW YORK – Syracuse senior Nicole Levy and junior Emily Hawryschuk are members of the 2019 Tewaaraton Award Watch List. The women's and men's lists, which were announced on Thursday, February 28 in New York by the Tewaaraton Award Foundation, include the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse.

Levy, who is making her second straight appearance on the Watch List, ranks 21st in the nation in assists (9) and 18th in points (21). She has scored multiple goals in four games this season, including hat tricks against Binghamton and Loyola. Her 63 career assists rank eighth on Syracuse's all-time leader list. Levy needs just five more goals to move into a tie for 10th place on the Orange's career leader list for goals scored.

Hawryschuk leads Syracuse with 18 goals and 24 points this season. She ranks seventh nationally in points and goals. Hawryschuk has recorded four goals in a game four times this season, including against No. 1 Boston College. She had a breakout season a year ago when she posted career highs in points (61) and goals (53). Hawryschuk was a 2018 All-Region and All-ACC First Team honoree.

The Tewaaraton Award is presented annually to the top male and female collegiate lacrosse player in the nation. Watch List additions, if applicable, will be announced on March 21 and April 4. The field will be narrowed down to 25 men's and women's nominees on April 25. Five women's and five men's finalists will be announced on May 9 and invited to the Tewaaraton Award Ceremony in Washington D.C. on May 30.

Levy, Hawryschuk and the No. 4/4 Orange return to ACC play on Saturday, Mar. 2 when they host No. 7/6 Virginia at 4 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. Admission and parking are free.
