
Orange Ranked #3 by Coaches, Media

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse is ranked No. 3 in both the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association and Inside Lacrosse media rankings released on Monday, April 1. It marks the second consecutive week the Orange held down the third spot in the media rankings. Syracuse moved up one spot in this week's coaches poll.

The Orange improved their overall record to 12-2 with a 15-14 win at No. 12/13 Duke last Saturday. The victory was the sixth straight for the 'Cuse, which is now 4-1 in ACC play. Redshirt junior Emily Hawryschuk led the offense with five points on four goals and an assist. It marked the 11th time this season she has scored four or more goals in a game. On the defensive end, the Orange limited the national leader in points and goals per game, the Blue Devils' Charlotte North, to just one assist.

The top three teams are the same in both polls with Boston College ranked No. 1 followed by Maryland at No. 2. The coaches have Northwestern at No. 4, with Notre Dame at No. 5, while the media rank the Fighting Irish No. 4 and North Carolina No. 5. The Orange have three wins against teams currently ranked in the top 10.

Syracuse tries to extend its winning streak when it hosts No. 21/rv Virginia Tech on Wednesday, April 3 at 4 p.m. The game will be played at Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse. Admission and parking are free. Fans can watch the action on ACC Network Extra.
