Orange Move to #31 in Latest Oracle/ITA Poll

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse women's tennis team dropped one spot from No. 30 to No. 31 in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association's latest poll, which was released Tuesday, April 23.
The Orange defeated then-No. 38 Georgia Tech 4-3 in the second round of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament before losing 4-0 to then-No. 2 North Carolina in the quarterfinals last weekend.
Senior Gabriela Knutson stayed at No. 13 in the singles rankings after going 1-1at the conference tournament. She defeated Georgia Tech's then-No. 8 Kenya Jones in three sets before losing in straights sets to North Carolina's then-No. 6 Makenna Jones.
Junior Miranda Ramirez also did not shift in the singles ranking. She held steady at No. 97 after a 1-1 weekend, which included a straight-set victory over Georgia Tech's Verliya Deminova.
In doubles, the Orange's top duo of Knutson and Ramirez dropped 11 spots from No. 56 to No. 67. The pair of sophomore Sofya Golubovskaya and freshman Sofya Treshcheva was not ranked.
Syracuse learns its NCAA Tournament seeding Monday. The selection show is set for 6:30 p.m and will stream on NCAA.com.
