Orange Host Bearcats in Home Opener Monday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – RV Syracuse men's soccer team will make its first appearance of the year at the SU Soccer Stadium when it hosts Binghamton on Monday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

The game will be streamed on ACC Network Extra, but fans can only watch the stream if their cable provider carries the ACC Network. Fans unsure if their provider carries ACCN are strongly encouraged to visit GetACCN.com.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse opened the season on Friday at No. 13 Georgetown. The Hoyas took the lead in the 48th minute, but the Orange responded in the 50th minute on Ryan Raposo's goal on a penalty kick. Georgetown broke the tie in the 74th minute and added an insurance tally in the 75th minute for the 3-1 victory.

THE SERIES
Monday's contest will be the 12th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Binghamton. The Orange hold a 6-5 advantage in the all-time series. The last time the teams met on the pitch was in 2015. The Bearcats took an early lead in that match, but Syracuse tied the game in the 32nd minute. The 'Cuse took the lead for good in the 71st minute and went on to a 3-1 victory.

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
Binghamton also opened the season on Friday at Drexel. The Bearcats rallied for a 2-1 overtime victory against the Dragons. Junior Noah Luescher scored both goals for Binghamton, including the game-winner off a free kick. Freshman goalkeeper Mats Roorda recorded three saves.
