SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 23 Syracuse women's basketball team have set a date for the 2020-21 season opener. The Orange will travel to Stony Brook to face the Seawolves for an in-state matchup on Sunday, Nov. 29 at Island Federal Arena. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.

Stony Brook is coming off a record-setting season in which the Seawolves went 28-3 overall and won both the America East regular season and postseason championships. During the 2019-20 season Stony Brook strung together 22-straight wins, which was the longest active streak in Division I women's basketball at the time.
Syracuse posted a 16-15 record last season and finished 9-9 in the ACC. The Orange earned three top-25 wins defeating No. 19 Michigan State, No. 8 Florida State and No. 5 Louisville. Two of the three top-25 wins were in the friendly confines of the Dome including the 59-51 win over the Cardinals which was Head Coach Quentin Hillsman's 300th career win.
The Orange return four of five starters, add a top-5 recruiting class, and welcome the return of Mangakahia who missed last season while battling Stage 2 breast cancer. Syracuse opens the season at home on Dec. 2 against Lincoln (DII) at 7 p.m.
