SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse tennis (4-0) continues its stretch of home matches on Friday when St. John's (2-1) comes to town. Match play begins at 2 p.m. at Drumlins Country Club and fans can follow the match via Syracuse's live scoreboard here. This is Syracuse's final non-conference match before ACC play begins next weekend.
LAST TIME OUT
The Orange defeated Boston University, 6-1, last Sunday at home. The Orange win featured five two-set sweeps in singles play, those victories coming from senior Miranda Ramirez, sophomore Sofya Treshcheva, and freshmen Zeynep Erman, Kim Hansen, and Polina Kozyreva. It was Kozyreva whose point secured the team win for Syracuse. The Orange also dominated doubles play, winning all three matches.

RANKED ORANGE
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its first ranking of the year Wednesday and Guzal Yusupova earned the 76th singles spot. Yusupova ended the fall ranked No. 64 in singles play. The senior is 2-2 in singles and 4-0 in doubles this season.

HOT STREAK
All three of Syracuse's freshmen have yet to lose a singles match. Kozyreva, Erman and Hansen all hold 4-0 records in singles play. Ramirez holds a perfect 4-0 record in both singles and doubles play. She's lost just one set this season.

'Cuse is one of seven ACC schools that remain undefeated on the year. For back-to-back years, Syracuse is 4-0 to start the year.

SCOUTING THE RED STORM
SJU is led by fifth year coach Lauren Leo. The Red Storm finished the 2018-2019 season 13-7 overall and 5-2 in the Big East. St. John's' season came to an end in the Big East semifinals against No. 1-seeded Xavier.

The Red Storm are led by Jessica Livianu. The senior has won Big East Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons. Last season, Livianu went 17-0 in singles play to finish the year ranked ninth in the ITA Northeast Region. She also went 14-3 in doubles.

WHAT'S AHEAD
The Orange open ACC play Saturday, Feb. 15 at home against Boston College (7-1) at 11 a.m. It's Student Appreciation Day for the Orange. Pizza, kozies will be offered along with the chance to win other prizes.
