
#24/21 Orange Return to Action Sunday

The #24/21 Syracuse women's basketball team returns to the court Sunday after a three-week pause due to COVID-19 protocols. The Orange face off with Miami for the second time this season on Sunday. Tip-off is slated for noon on Regional Sports Networks (YES Network locally). with Dean Linke and Amy Audibert on the call.Â
The 28-day gap between Syracuse's last game (Dec. 20 vs. Boston College) and Sunday's matinee with the Hurricanes is the longest since a 44-day break between games for the University's winter break during the 1978-79 season. Syracuse is 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the ACC with wins over Miami and Boston College.Â
In the last meeting between the two squads, Syracuse earned a 69-58 win in Coral Gables. It was the first win for the Orange at the Watsco Center since the 2015-16 season. Tiana Mangakahia and Kamilla Cardoso each tallied a game-high 14 points while Digna Strautmane was one point shy of a double double with a team-best 11 rebounds. Mangakahia added seven assists and freshman Priscilla Williams added eight points including a pair of three-pointers. Miami was led by Destiny Hardin's 11 points in the loss. She was the only Hurricane to score in double figures.Â
Sunday marks the first of four games in eight days for 'Cuse. The Orange return to the Carrier Dome floor at noon on Saturday for a rescheduled matchup with North Carolina. The Tar Heels handed Syracuse its only loss of the season on Dec. 17, a 92-68 defeat at Carmichael Arena.

 If fans are permitted to attend games – in some capacity – Syracuse Athletics will announce plans for spectators to secure admission to the events. Fans will be required to sit in their socially-distanced seat locations and wear a face covering.
