Klimek Earns CHA Player of the Month Honors

Senior Victoria Klimek is the College Hockey America December Player of the Month for her performances to close out 2020. In two weekend series against Penn State last month, Klimek scored four goals and had one assist.

In Syracuse's games at Penn State, Klimek scored all three goals for the Orange (12/5/20 and 12/6/20). The Orangeville, Ontario native scored the lone goal in Syracuse's 2-1 loss on Saturday and both goals in the 2-2 overtime tie on Sunday. Klimek started the scoring in both games, scoring eight minutes into the first game and tallying a pair of goals within six minutes of each other to give the Orange a 2-0 lead in the second game.

When the Orange hosted the Nittany Lions just a week later (12/11/20 and 12/12/20), Klimek scored a goal and had an assist in a 4-2 victory. She assisted on a goal scored by Sarah Thompson in the first period and then scored a goal with just 11 seconds left in the game.

In 2020-21, Klimek leads the team with eight points, including five goals and three assists. She is just six points shy of joining the Orange 50 Point Club.

Syracuse will host Lindenwood in Syracuse on Friday, Jan. 5 (7 pm) and Saturday, Jan. 16 (2 pm). Both games will be streamed on Cuse.com.
