Orange Go for Sixth-Straight Win Saturday Morning

Winners of five-straight, the Syracuse women's basketball team (7-4) looks to extend its win streak to six on Saturday morning. The Orange host UMBC (1-8) at 11 a.m. in the Carrier Dome. The game will be streamed live on ACCNX through the ESPN app with Brad Klein and Joey Semel on the call.Â
Syracuse has had a week to prepare for Saturday's non-conference matchup. The Orange are coming off a 40-point win over Clemson (5-4) in ACC play. 'Cuse outscored the Tigers 46-19 in the second half to earn an 86-46 win to improve to 1-1 in the ACC and 7-1 at home. All five starters are averaging double figures in scoring for Syracuse with Chrislyn Carr pacing the team with 15.4 points per game. Syracuse leads the ACC in steals (119) and steals per game (10.8) and is the top free throw shooting team in the league at 80.6 percent efficiency at the line.Â
UMBC is 1-8 and has lost its last eight games. Janee'a Summers leads the Retrievers with 14.3 points per game and is shooting 33.7 percent from the field and adds 5.4 rebounds per game. She scored a career-high 25 points in UMBC's last game, a 74-61 road loss at Howard. As a team, UMBC is averaging 57.1 points per game and is shooting 37.9 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from three-point range.Â
