Track and field season kicks off this weekend at Cornell, beginning a run of 16 regular season meets on the docket this season between the indoor and outdoor campaigns.
The Orange will head an hour south to Cornell for its first two meets, racing at the Greg Page Relays (Dec. 4) and the Southern Tier Invite (Jan. 8) to open the year.
'Cuse will then get an preview of the ACC Championship meet when they head to Blacksburg on Jan. 14 to run at the Virginia Tech Invitational. The Hokies will host the ACC indoor meet a little more than a month later. 'Cuse kicked off its abbreviated indoor season off at this meet last year, where JP Trojan and Amanda Vestri swept the 5k races.
A week after the VT Invitational, the Orange will make their return to the Boston Terrier Invitational after a one-year hiatus. In 2020, Shaleah Colaire took third in the women's 100-meter hurdles and Iliass Aouani broke the Italian mile record in Boston.
'Cuse is also at Boston University for the BU Valentine Invite on Feb. 11. In between, the teams will compete at the Kane Invitational (Jan. 29 at Cornell) and the Dr. Sander Invitational at the Armory in New York (Feb. 4-5).
The indoor slate concludes with the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational (Feb. 11-12) and the Marc Deneault Invitational at Cornell (Feb. 19), before the ACC Indoor Championships (Feb. 24-26). The NCAA Championships will be March 11-12 in Birmingham, Alabama this year.
Outdoor season kicks off on March 24 at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State. That same weekend, members of the Orange will be at another ACC school, competing at the FSU Relays in Tallahassee.
The Stanford Invitational is a week later, where the Orange distance squad has shattered some school records in prior years, followed by the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational (April 8-9) and the Auburn War Eagle Invitational (April 15-16).
The Orange will then head to Charlottesville to race in the Virginia Challenge on April 22 and 23, before concluding the regular season at the historic Penn Relays on April 28.
The ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be hosted by Duke on May 12-14. Those who qualify will then race in the NCAA East Preliminary at Indiana from May 25-28.
The outdoor season ends at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon on June 8-11.
