
Orange Win 2 Events at Southern Tier Invite

The Syracuse track and field teams returned from a month hiatus and competed at the Cornell Southern Tier Invitational on Saturday, winning a pair of events.
Tia Outlaw won the 60-meter hurdles by 0.4 seconds over the field, crossing the line in 8.34 seconds. Teammate Ivana Richards was fourth in 9.21 seconds.
Peyton Rollins won the 60-meter dash in 7.64 seconds. Jada Wiliams also competed in the preliminaries, running 8.35 seconds, while Bianca Williams posted a time of 8.53 seconds.
Isaiah Hayes turned in a strong performance in the men's 60-meter hurdles, placing second with a time of 8.17. Hayes posted an 8.12 in the preliminaries to advance to the final. Tawakal Omar advanced to the finals after running 8.30 in the preliminaries but did not finish.
In the women's 300-meter dash, Nicea Jones placed second with a time of 39.80. Shayla Ford finished sixth in 41.03, while Emeline Clark took ninth (41.75), Mia Hernandez finished 11th (42.74) and Richards placed 15th (43.97). Andrea Pomales finished 23rd (45.99), Leah Bello placed 26th (46.18), Nylah Robinson took 31st (47.03) and Blake Parker finished 48th (53.57).
Nasir Adams competed in the men's 60-meter dash preliminaries, recording a time of 7.56.
The Orange will continue their indoor season next weekend at a pair of meets.
