Syracuse travels south to Tallahassee, Fla. on Thursday for an ACC matchup against Florida State. The Orange (11-4, 8-4 ACC) and Seminoles (6-5, 5-5 ACC) tip-off on ACC Network at 8 p.m. with Jenn Hildreth and Debbie Antonelli on the call.
The Orange have won four of their last five games with its lone loss being on the road at Georgia Tech last Tuesday. Kamilla Cardoso leads the team in scoring with 15.3 points per game and is the ACC Freshman of the Week for the third-straight week. The Orange have four players averaging double figures in scoring with Priscilla Williams sitting at 9.9 ppg just shy of being the fifth. Kiara Lewis (14.3 ppg) and Tiana Mangakahia (10.6 ppg) form one of the toughest back courts in the nation while junior Emily Engstler is averaging 10.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per game with a team-best five double-doubles off the bench.
Florida State is unbeaten at home this season with a 4-0 record at the Tucker Civic Center under interim head coach Brooke Wyckoff. The Seminoles are led by Morgan Jones with 14.9 points per game. Kourtney Weber and Bianca Jackson are adding 13.9 and 13.2 points per game, respectively. FSU has lost three of its last four games and will play its first home game since a double overtime win over Clemson on Jan. 21.
Syracuse leads the all-time series 4-3 and is 1-2 in Tallahassee. Last season, the Orange won, 90-89, on a buzzer-beating layup in overtime with a play that Coach Hillsman later shared he drew up years before on a napkin during a recruiting trip. Syracuse's upset over #8 Florida State on Jan. 2 was the first of two top-10 wins at the Carrier Dome last season. The other was a 59-51 win over #5 Louisville on Feb. 9.
Fans can watch Thursday night's game live on ACC Network or through the ESPN App.
Following Thursday's game the Orange return home to host #3 Louisville Sunday, Feb. 14 for the annual Play4Kay game. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. on ESPN2.
