Syracuse senior Jessica DiGirolamo tallied two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win at Lindenwood on Sunday. She accounted for six points (five goals and one assist) in Syracuse's three-game sweep and gives her 24 points (10g, 14a) in 19 career games versus the Lions. DiGirolamo has five 2+ goal games in her Syracuse career.
 Â
"We jumped on them early in the first period and Allison (Small) did a great job in the goal the rest of the way for the three-game sweep," said head coach Paul Flanagan. "It is always tough to beat a team three times in a season, so it is impressive for our group to accomplish three wins in three days on the road. Unfortunately, Allison lost her shutout bid late in the game, but she made several great saves throughout for the win."
Syracuse (6-8-1 overall, 6-6-1 College Hockey America) took control of the game in the first period, scoring three goals in a four-minute span. Junior forward Lauren Bellefontaine tallied the first goal five minutes into the game, firing a shot past Lindenwood (2-10-1) goalie Annika Asplundh. Junior Abby Moloughney and DiGirolamo set up Bellefontaine's goal. DiGirolamo notched the second goal less than one minute later scoring on assists from Bellefontaine and Moloughney. DiGirolamo then made the score 3-0 on with 11 minutes left in the opening period, recording a goal on helpers from Moloughney and sophomore Mae Batherson.
Â
Midway through the third period Batherson sent the puck into the back of the net on a cleanup to give the Orange a 4-0 lead with just more than 11 minutes left in the game. Lindenwood's Thea Jorgenson scored the Lions lone goal at the 13:14 mark in the third.
Â
Orange goalie Allison Small recorded 21 saves in the victory, increasing her career total to 1,033. In the three-game series, Bellefontaine scored two goals and had five assists, while Moloughney recorded six assists and Batherson scored two goals and had one assist.
Â
Syracuse extended its win streak against Lindenwood to 14 games and owns a 34-5-2 advantage in the series.
