
Trojan Takes 4th in 5k at ACC Championships

Orange post two scorers on night one
JP Trojan took fourth in the 5000-meter run to earn All-ACC honors, while teammate Alex Comerford took seventh to collect points for Syracuse, highlighting night one of the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Trojan ran a season-best time of 13:56.10 in the event, which featured some fast times. Virginia Tech's Antonio Lopez Segura won the event in a meet and facility record time of 13:49.86. Comerford (14:04.94), Matthew Scrape (9th/14:07.89), Silas Derfel (10th/14:11.39) and Sam Lawler (18th/14:26.93) rounded out a deep field of Orange in the event.
Comerford and Derfel posted personal-best times in the race.
Eunice Boateng was the lone other Orange competitor in action on Thursday, crossing the line of the women's 200-meter dash in a season-best time of 24.87 seconds.
