Syracuse and Pitt will clash for the second time this season when the Panthers host the Orange on Sunday, Feb. 7 at the Petersen Events Center. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. on Regional Sports Networks (YES Network locally) with Kelley Deyo and Tom Werme '90 on the call.Â
The Orange (10-4, 7-4 ACC) won the first meeting of the season on Jan. 28, 80-57. 'Cuse outscored the Panthers 27-12 in the final frame to secure its 46th win in program history over Pitt. Syracuse has won nine-straight games at the Petersen Events Center, winning last year's meeting, 69-51, on Jan. 19, 2020. Syracuse head coach Quentin Hillsman has a 19-3 record against Pitt during his 15-year tenure.Â
Syracuse is led offensively by Kamilla Cardoso (14.8 ppg) and Kiara Lewis (13.7 ppg). Cardoso is the two-time defending ACC Freshman of the Week and leads the league in field goal percentage (.614) and blocks per game (3.35). Tiana Mangakahia, the ACC leader in assists per game (7.7) has 100 helpers this season and is assisting on 42.4 percent of Syracuse's field goals. The Australia native is adding 11.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Priscilla Williams (10.1 ppg) averages 2.1 3-pointers per game and is the fourth Orange averaging double figures. Pitt (4-6, 2-5 ACC) is led by Jayla Everett (14.3 ppg) and Dayshanette Harris (14.2 ppg).
