Cardoso, Lewis Combine for 44 Points in Win

Syracuse beat Pittsburgh 71-67 on the road on Sunday afternoon to improve to 11-4 overall and 8-4 in the ACC. Kamilla Cardoso and Kiara Lewis combined for 44 points in the win. Tiana Mangakahia had a game-high 11 assists en route to becoming the sixth player in ACC history with 700 career assists.
Syracuse jumped out to a 5-0 lead but Pittsburgh responded with a 14-1 run to lead 14-6 at the end of the first quarter. The Panthers had their biggest advantage of the game at 7:17 in the second quarter when a Rita Igbokwe layup extended the Pitt lead to 15, 21-6. Emily Engstler hit a 3-pointer at the end of the first half sending Syracuse into halftime down eight, 30-22.
The Orange used a 27-17 third quarter to make it a two-point game with 10 minutes to go. Kiara Lewis gave Syracuse its first lead of the game, 49-47, on a pair of free throws with six seconds to go in the third. 'Cuse had its best offensive frame shooting 69.2 percent from the field (9-for-13).
Syracuse used a 10-0 run to go ahead 55-47 with nine minutes remaining in regulation. Mangakahia dished out three assists during the stretch, earning the 700th dime of her career. The Panthers (4-7, 2-6 ACC) cut the deficit to one when Jayla Everett drained a triple at the top of the key to cut it to one, 68-67. Mangakahia converted two free throws to extend it to a three-point lead and Engstler iced the game with a free throw with 3.3 seconds to play.
Cardoso and Lewis each had 22 points. Cardoso added eight rebounds while Lewis dished four assists and shot 80 percent at the charity stripe (8-for-10). Emily Engstler also scored in double figures with 13 points and eight boards. Defensively, the junior added two blocks and tied a season-high three steals.
The Orange finish 3-1 in its second installment of four games in eight days and earn a 10th-straight road win at Pittsburgh.

- Mangakahia became the first player in Syracuse history to reach 700 assists
- It was Mangakahia's sixth 10+ assists game this season and the 32nd of her career
- Cardoso had her third 20-point game of the season
- Lewis scored 20+ points for the fifth time this season
