THE GAME
- Syracuse hits the road for the first time this season, playing at No. 2 Duke in its second ACC game of the year.
- The game will be broadcast on ACC Network with Anish Shroff '04 (PxP) and Orange All-American midfielder Paul Carcaterra '97 (analyst) on the call. Brian Higgins '04 (PxP) and Kyle Fetterly '09 (analyst) will broadcast the action on TK99/105, Cuse.com and the TuneIn App, while WAER will also carry the game.

THE DUKE SERIES
- Syracuse and Duke play for the first time in over two calendar years on Thursday night.
- The teams have met annually - aside from the canceled game in 2020 - since 2011, with Syracuse holding a 13-6 advantage in the all-time series.
- The matchup dates back to an Orange road trip to Durham in 1938, but 14 of the 19 matchups in the series have taken place since 2009.
- This game is a matchup between two of the sport's all-time winningest coaches. John Desko and John Danowski both rank in the top-16 all-time in NCAA Division I victories, with Danowski's 426 atop the list. The duo has combined for 688 wins as head coaches and including their time as assistants, have patrolled the sidelines for 929 victories.
- Each of the last-three matchups have been decided by one goal between the programs, including a pair of games that needed extra time.
- Orange midfielders have played hero in recent matchups, with Jamie Trimboli (2017, 2018) and Brendan Curry (2019) each delivering overtime or late fourth quarter game-winning goals against the Blue Devils in recent contests.

ROOKIE RECORDS
- Owen Hiltz enters Thursday's contests with the most points through the first-five games of his career in a Syracuse uniform since Mikey Powell. Powell (10-13) and Hiltz (13-10) notched an identical 23 points.
- After posting two points in the opener, Hiltz has notched four-straight 5+ point games, including a breakthrough performance in his first-career start vs. Virginia in the second game of the season. Powell's high during his first five games was a six-point performance (2-4) in his second collegiate game, which also came against the Cavaliers.
- Powell finished the year with 70, which is second to John Zulberti (74) in most points by an SU freshman. Casey Powell (67), Larry Storrier (63) and Tim O'Hara (54) round out the top-five freshman point scorers in program history.

CONFERENCE KINGS
- The Orange have finished with a .500-or-better record against conference opponents for the last five seasons (2015-2019, the Orange did not play a conference game in 2020).
- Since joining the ACC, Syracuse boasts a 17-9 record in regular season league games and also has two ACC Tournament titles. Duke holds the second-best mark in that period at 15-10. Notre Dame (13-12), North Carolina (13-13) and Virginia (5-22) make up the remaining records.
- 'Cuse was 4-0 in league play in the 2017 and 2018 seasons and has never finished worse than 2-3 2014, its inaugural season in the league. The Orange have been .500 or better each year since.
- For that dominance, head coach John Desko has become the first coach in the history of the league to win ACC Men's Lacrosse Coach of the Year in four-straight (2015-18) seasons. No other coach has done so even three times.

TOUGH ROAD AHEAD
- Five of Syracuse's next six games will come against teams ranked in the top-10 of the USILA Poll.
- The Orange have or will play seven teams in the top-10 this season, a mark that ties Virginia, Duke and North Carolina for the current national lead. Syracuse and UVA both played Army in February and the other six games come against league foes. Duke and Carolina's other top-10 opponent is current No. 10 Denver.
- Notre Dame (6) and Marquette (5) face the next most top-10 opponents this season.

A WIN AGAINST DUKE WOULD...
- Be the program's 922nd victory, second all-time behind Johns Hopkins.
- Move head coach John Desko past Carl Runk (262) and into a tie with Tony Seaman (263) for 15th in the NCAA Division I wins list.
- Improve Syracuse to a conference-best 18-9 record in ACC play since joining the league prior to the 2014 season.
- Tie the five-game win streak in 2020 for the longest winning streak since 2017.
- Be the 527th win Desko has been part of at Syracuse, including his time as a player, assistant and head coach. Only 18 NCAA Division I programs have more total wins as a program than Desko has been on the Orange sideline for.
