
Field Hockey Spring Schedule Set

The Syracuse field hockey team will continue its season this spring with eight regular season games after finishing the fall season 5-4. The Atlantic Coast Conference was the only NCAA Division I conference to play field hockey in the fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Â
Syracuse begins its spring campaign with an tune up on Saturday in an exhibition game at St. Joseph's in Philladelphia, Pa. The Orange then get the regular season underway on Sunday against the Hawks at 2 p.m. in the first of two non-confernece games on the schedule. The Orange travel to Towson the following weekend (March 14) to take on the Tigers at 12 p.m.
'Cuse begins ACC play on the road at Duke on March 27 at 1 p.m. and will play its spring home opener against Wake Forest on April 2 at J. S. Coyne Stadium. Syracuse plays back-to-back road games at Louisville (April 4) and Boston College (April 10) before returning home for the final games of the regular season against Virginia and North Carolina on April 16 and 18, respectively.Â
The top-team in the ACC this spring will face North Carolina, the 2020 fall champion, for the ACC Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on April 23.Â
The NCAA Tournament begins with the first and second rounds on April 30 and May 2. North Carolina will host the semifinals and championship game at Karen Shelton Stadium May 7 and 9.Â
In the fall, 'Cuse earned the No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament where the Orange lost to eventual champion UNC in the semifinals. 'Cuse defeated No. 6 seed Duke 3-2 in overtime behind a golden goal by junior Laura Graziosi. All nine of Syracuse's games during the fall season were decided by one goal.Â
