Box Score Highlights

Syracuse (19-16) scored a season-high 10 runs in Tuesday's non-conference road win at Albany (16-17). Neli Casares-Maher went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI while Paris Woods led the team with four runs batted in going 2-for-2 with a double, a walk and a sacrifice hit. Syracuse returns home to face No. 20 Virginia Tech for a four-game series beginning Friday, April 30 at 4 p.m. at the Skytop Softball Field. No fans will be permitted to attend Syracuse home games but can watch live on ACCNX.

Albany jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first when back-to-back RBI singles pushed two runs across for the Great Danes. Syracuse responded with a six-run second inning which saw the Orange bat around the lineup. Syracuse scored six runs on three hits and an error by Albany for a 6-2 lead.

Chloe Lewis cut Syracuse's lead to three when she took Kaia Olivers' first pitch of the second inning over the left field fence to make it 6-3. Syracuse added three more runs in the top of the third to extend its lead to 9-3. Albany scored in the bottom of the third but an insurance run by 'Cuse in the top of the fifth make it 10-4 in favor of the Orange.

The Great Danes scored one run in each of the final two innings but were unable to overcome the deficit and snapped a four-game win streak.

Oliver picked up the win allowing five hits and three earned runs in one inning of work. Lindsey Hendrix came on in relief in the second and struck out five batters. She gave up three earned runs on four hits in her six innings in the circle.

The Orange turn their focus for this weekend's ACC series against the Hokies. Friday's single game begins at 4 p.m. with a double header scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday. The series finale will wrap up Sunday with a single game at Noon on ACCNX.
