Friday Semifinals
"To have all three of our boats make the Grand Final of our National Championship is a great accomplishment for our team," Reischman said. "It was a great day of racing and the guys did a tremendous job of handling some difficult wind conditions. Those grand finals were hard earned. We are up against some very fast crews tomorrow and our guys are excited to see how we measure up."
Syracuse's varsity eight and second varsity eight finished in second place in their respective semifinal races to advance to the grand finals on Saturday morning. Inclement weather canceled the varsity four's semifinal, but the Orange advanced to the final which will feature the top seven teams from Friday's time trial. The V8+ clocked in at 6:33.00 placing second behind Dartmouth. In the 2V8+ semifinal 3 the Orange used a late push in the final 500m to edge Dartmouth for second place and a spot in the grand final with a time of 6:23.319. It marks the first time since 2012 the varsity eight has earned a spot in the grand final and first time in over 20 years that the 2V8+ and 4V+ have made the grand final. In 2019, the Orange V8+, 2V8+ and 3V8+ all finished in the top-10 and placed all three boats in the petite finals.Â
