Four Orange have now qualified
Aidan Tooker became the fourth member of the Orange to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, by qualifying in the 3000-meter steeplechase on Friday night.
Tooker claimed the final of three automatic qualifying spots in his heat by overtaking Michigan's Christian Hubaker in the home straight to win it at the line.
His time was a season best 8:44.09, and would have been good enough to qualify on time regardless had he not earned an automatic spot.
Tooker is headed to the NCAA Championships for the third time in his career, where he took fourth overall in the steeplechase in 2018.
He'll join teammates Amanda Vestri, Annie Heffernan and JP Trojan in Eugene, with Justus Holden-Betts having the opportunity to join them in tomorrow's 3000-meter steeplechase, the final event for SU competitors at the prelim.
