THE ROBERT MORRIS SERIES
- This is the first meeting between Syracuse and Robert Morris.
- The Colonials, which are an independent program, have already faced Virginia (L, 14-12), Duke (L, 16-12) and Notre Dame (L, 19-7) from the ACC this season.
- The matchup is in replace of a previously canceled game vs. Utah.
FIRST MEETINGS
- This is Syracuse's fourth first-time opponent on the schedule, after previously hosting Vermont, Stony Brook and Holy Cross in March.
- Syracuse hasn't faced four-or-more first time opponents since 1972, which was head coach John Desko's freshman year of high school.
- In '72, the Orange faced Delaware, Towson, UMBC, Morgan State and Baltimore College in succession to open the year. The five-game, six-day road trip were all first time opponents under second-year head coach Roy Simmons Jr.
TEWAARATON WATCH
- Stephen Rehfuss was named a Tewaaraton Award nominee, 1-of-25 players eligible for the award after the Watch List was cut down last week.
- The entire Syracuse first line midfield (Brendan Curry, Tucker Dordevic and Jamie Trimboli) were named to the first Tewaaraton Award Watch List of the season, while Rehfuss was added on the second watch list.
-Â Rehfuss enters Friday's game with 179 career points.
NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS
- Since joining the ACC, the Orange is 53-14 versus non-conference opponents, including a 49-10 mark in regular-season, non-league contests.Â
ORANGE IN BOUNCE-BACK GAMES
- Head coach John Desko has had tremendous success in getting the Orange back on track following a loss.
- 'Cuse is 51-25 in games following a loss during a season under Desko (this record does not include the season opener following season-ending losses).
- Under Desko, 'Cuse has only had 14 "losing streaks" (two or more consecutive losses) in 23 seasons.
REHFUSS RISING
- Stephen Rehfuss became the 10th player in Syracuse history to have over 100 assists in his career.. He now has 104 career assists, four behind Jamie Archer for ninth all-time.
