PITTSBURGH PA.- The Orange travel to 16th-ranked Pittsburgh on Friday (Oct. 1) at 7 p.m. Syracuse is 5-4-1 overall and 1-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play, while Pittsburgh is 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the ACC. ORANGE UPDATE
The Orange are coming off a 5-2 win against Vermont on Tuesday (Sept. 28). Senior forward Manel Busquets led the Syracuse offense, playing a part in the first three goals, including scoring one goal and assisting on two. Four other Orange scored, including senior forward Colin Biros, freshman forward Francesco Pagano, graduate student defender Max Kent and freshman forward Curt Calov.

THE SERIES
Friday's match will be the 25th meeting between the Orange and the Panthers. Eight of the matches have ended in double overtime. The two teams faced each other in the 2021 ACC Tournament when Syracuse won 4-0.

ORANGE TO WATCH

Calov has scored five goals on the season.
Pagano made his first collegiate start in the game against Vermont and added another goal to his tally of three on the season.
Graduate student goalkeeper Lucas Daunhauer recorded six saves against Vermont and recorded a clean sheet in the game against Niagara (Sept. 6).

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS

Head Coach Jay Vidovich is in his sixth season leading the program.
Pittsburgh is ranked 16th in this weeks United Soccer Coaches' Poll.
The Panthers were selected as the preseason overall champion in the ACC Men's Soccer Coaches' Poll.
Graduate student Matt Bailey was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week this week.
