All-American Kent to Join Orange Lacrosse Staff

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse women's lacrosse head coach Kayla Treanor has announced that All-American Kenzie Kent will join her staff as assistant coach. Kent is a 2019 graduate of Boston College who spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Harvard.

Kent began her coaching career at Harvard in July 2019. The Crimson was 3-3 in the spring of 2020 when the season was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Harvard did not compete last spring.

As a student-athlete, Kent excelled in both lacrosse and ice hockey for the Eagles. She was named a first-team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) in 2019 when she led the nation in scoring with 127 points on 52 goals and 75 assists. The 75 assists are a Boston College single-season record. She earned All-ACC First Team honors as well as IWLCA and ACC Academic Honor Roll accolades.

Kent earned the 2017 ACC Mary Garber Award as the conference's Female Athlete of the Year. She recorded 77 points that season in just 12 games, which ranked 31st in the nation. Kent led all scorers in the NCAA Tournament that season and earned the Most Outstanding Player Award.

The Norwell, Mass. native finished her career with 255 career points (124 goals, 131 assists) and led Boston College to the national championship game in 2017 and 2019. Kent continued her playing career this past summer in the inaugural season of the Athletes Unlimited professional league.

Kent also starred for the Boston College women's hockey team, leading the Eagles to three Frozen Fours. She completed her hockey career tied for eighth in program history in career points (138), fourth in career assists (98) and setting the program's games played record (157).

Syracuse is coming off a 17-4 season and 2021 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament title game for the third time in program history.
