Orange Begin 2022 With Three Tournaments

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse softball team will begin the 2021-22 season at tournaments in Louisiana, Texas and Alabama. The Orange start at the Best of the Bayou Classic on February 11-13. The Orange will compete against Mississippi Valley State, Southern University, Morehead State, Southern Illinois, and Stephen F. Austin.
The Orange will face six teams that competed in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, including Southern Illinois, Alabama State, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and Duke.
Following the Best of the Bayou, the Orange will compete at the Tarleton Softball invitational from February 18-20 in Stephenville, Texas and at the Plainsman Invite on February 25-27 at Auburn University.
ACC action begins at North Carolina State (March 4-6), followed by a series at Virginia Tech (March 11-13). After the two ACC series the Orange will play doubleheaders against Maryland Eastern Shore (March 15) and Coppin State (March 16). 'Cuse will play two games at Hofstra (March 19-20) and finish the month of March at Georgia Tech for a three-game series (March 25-27).
Syracuse begins its home schedule against Pittsburgh with a three-game series beginning on April 1. The teams will also play on April 2 and 3. 'Cuse will also host Notre Dame (April 8-10) and Canisius in a doubleheader (April 13).
The Orange will play at Louisville (April 15-17) and a doubleheader at Colgate (April 20) before returning home to play 2021 ACC Tournament champion Duke (April 22-24) and a doubleheader against Niagara (April 29). After a non-conference doubleheader at Cornell on May 4, Syracuse will host North Carolina (May 6-8) to close the regular season.
The ACC Championship is set for May 11-14 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
