The Orange (8-6, 1-3 ACC) welcome the second nationally-ranked opponent to the Carrier Dome this season Sunday when Syracuse host's No. 17/22 Duke (10-2, 1-1 ACC) at 2 p.m. Fans unable to attend can watch nationally on regional sports networks. Due to a NBA airing on YES Network, fans locally can stream the game live on ACCNX through the ESPN app.Â
Syracuse looks to snap a two-game skid in ACC play after a 95-71 road loss at Boston College Thursday night. The Orange have not played a home game since Dec. 18, a 82-50 win over UMBC. Syracuse is led by five players averaging double figures in scoring. Paced by Chrislyn Carr 14.6 points per game and Alaysia Styles 6.4 rebounds per game, the Orange look to win their second game against a top-25 opponent this season. The Orange are 1-2 against the top-25 with their Dec. 1 upset of No. 18 Ohio State sparking a December run that saw Syracuse post a 6-1 record which featured six-straight wins.Â
The Blue Devils did not play on Thursday due to a postponement by their schedule opponent, Georgia Tech. Duke is 3-2 in their last five games including a 22-point loss to Virginia Tech on Dec. 30 to begin ACC play. Celeste Taylor, one of head coach Kara Lawson's nine transfers, leads the Blue Devils with 12.2 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game. Freshman Shayeann Day-Wilson adds 11.9 ppg and Elizabeth Balogun, an ACC transfer by way of Louisville and Georgia Tech, adds 11.5 ppg. Duke averages 74.8 ppg and is outscoring opponents by 15.8 ppg this season.Â
Last year, the two did not meet due to Duke canceling its season before the two were scheduled to meet on Jan. 21, 2021. Duke leads the all-time series 6-3 and won the last matchup on Jan. 23, 2020, 88-58 at the Dome.Â
