'Cuse Set to Start 2022-23 Season at Head of the Charles

Syracuse's varsity eight and second varsity eight will kick off the 2022 fall season at the Head of the Charles on Sunday, October 23. The regatta, which began in 1965, is held on the Charles River in Cambridge, Mass. Both of Syracuse's boats will compete in the Women's Championship Eight event, which begins at 2:11 pm.

The Orange varsity eight will race in 'No Brakes' with bow #6. It will start behind the Penn varsity eight and ahead of the Brown second varsity eight. The 'Cuse second varsity eight will race the 'Connie' with bow #25, starting behind the Columbia varsity eight and ahead of the Navy varsity eight.

The Head of the Charles racecourse starts at the Boston University Boathouse and goes almost immediately under the combination of a railroad trestle bridge and the B.U. Bridge. It then proceeds through five triple-arch bridges to the finish line approximately three miles upstream.
