
Orange End Day Two at the Tarleton Invitational 1-1

STEPHENVILLE, TX - The Orange ended the second day of the Tarleton Invitational 1-1. Texas A&M Corpus Christi defeated Syracuse 3-2 in the final at bat of the first game. The Orange bounced back to take the second game against Praire View A&M 12-1.Â
The seventh inning of the game against Texas A&M Corpus Christi proved to be the most crucial. After trailing 2-0 for six innings, the Orange tied the score at 2-2 in the top of the seventh from a two-run RBI double off the bat of Yamila Evans. A walk off home run in the bottom of the inning clenched the 3-2 victory for the Islanders.Â
In game two against Praire View A&M, the Orange got on the board first with an RBI single from Angel Jasso. The Panthers responded with a run of their own to knot the score at 1-1Â over the next inning.Â
Syracuse added a run in each the third, fourth and fifth inning with a double to center field from Jude Padilla, an RBI from Tessa Galipeau and a walk. A six run sixth inning led Syracuse to a 12-1 win. Padilla, Olivia Pess and Galipeau were responsible for the runs batted in.Â
Summer Clark finished her outing against the Panthers with a 1.11 ERA. The left-hander went six innings, giving up one run on two hits, allowing four walks and striking out three.
Galipeau went 2-for-3 with two walks in addition to her four RBIs for the Orange. Senior Neli Casares-Maher complied a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and two RBIs. Sophomore Angel Jasso also helped out for Syracuse, putting together three hits in five trips to the plate while adding a double and an RBI.

- The Orange drew four walks from Texas A&M-CC pitching.
- Evans led the Orange at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs against the Islanders.
- Jasso compiled three base hits in the game against Praire View A&M for Syracuse.
- Galipeau drove in four runs in the second game.
- Five Orange had multiple hits against the Panthers.
- The Orange out-hit the Lady Panthers at a 15-2 clip.
- Galipeau led Syracuse at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs in game two.
