THE GAME
- Duke visits the Dome for the first time since 2017 on Saturday.
- The game will be broadcast on ESPNU with Jay Alter '16 (PxP) and  Matt Ward (analyst) on the call. Brian Higgins '04 (PxP) and Kyle Fetterly '09 (analyst) will broadcast the action on TK99/105, Cuse.com, The Varsity App and the TuneIn App, while WAER will also carry the game.
FAN INFO
- Syracuse updated its entry policy for all stadium events and attendees are no longer required to demonstrate proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test prior to entry to the Stadium. For more info on all stadium protocols, click here: Cuse.com/COVID
- The game is also a double-header with the 'Cuse women, who play at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday vs. Temple. Both games are included with the price of admission.
- It's Military Appreciation Day in the Dome. Active duty military and veterans can receive discounted tickets at the box office on Saturday.
THE DUKE SERIES
- Syracuse and Duke play in the Dome for the first time since 2017 on Saturday for Military Appreciation Day.
- The teams have met annually - aside from the canceled game in 2020 - since 2011, with Syracuse holding a 13-7 advantage in the all-time series.Â
- The matchup dates back to an Orange road trip to Durham in 1938, but 15 of the 20 matchups in the series have taken place since 2009.
- Each of the last-four matchups have been decided by one goal between the programs, including a pair of games that needed extra time.
- The 2019 matchup - the last game in Syracuse between the programs - was played at CNS High School due to the Dome hosting the first round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. Brendan Curry delivered a game-winning goal in overtime to cap a thrilling comeback.
- The last meeting came down to the final second as well, when Stephen Rehfuss' buzzer-beating shot at the doorstep was saved to hold a 15-14 Duke win.
THE DORDEVIC SHOW
- Tucker Dordevic is on pace for a historic goal-scoring season at Syracuse, as the redshirt junior has already scored 5+ goals in four of the team's seven games to date, and sits at 26 goals at the midway point of the year.
-Â Dordevic is on pace to finish the 14 game regular season with 52 goals, which would be the fifth-most goals in a season in program history and most since Tom Marechek scored 53 in 1991 (15 games).
- If Dordevic even gets to 40+, he'd be in rare company. Dylan Donahue (50/2015) is the last player to go north of 40 for a season. Before him, Stephen Keogh (49/2009), Mike Leveille (49/2008), Mike Powell (47/2004; 40/2002), Mike Springer (40/2001; 48/2000), Matt Cutia (44/1999), Casey Powell (44/1998; 43/1997), Rob Kavovit (42/1996), Roy Colsey (44/1994), Matt Riter (49/1993) are the only 10 players to do it since Marechek (who did so in 1992 and 1993 in addition to '91).
- Dordevic enters Saturday's game ranked fourth nationally with 3.7 goals per game.
A WIN AGAINST DUKE WOULD...
- Improve Syracuse to 4-4 on the season, evening their record for the first time since the second week of the year.
- Be the program's 928th victory, second all-time behind Johns Hopkins.
- Be the first men's conference victory of Gary Gait's tenure as head coach.
A GAUNTLET OF A SCHEDULE
- Duke checks in at No. 10 in this week's USILA poll, marking the seventh-straight game that Syracuse has played vs. a team ranked or receiving votes. The Orange have already played No. 1 Maryland, No. 2 Virginia, No. 13 Army and No. 18 Johns Hopkins in each of the past four weeks, and also Hobart and Stony Brook, who were receiving votes at the time in that span.
- In the near 50 year history of the USILA Poll, the three game stretch with games against No. 1 Maryland, No. 2 Virginia and No. 13 Army was just the eighth stretch where 'Cuse plays three-or-more games in a row facing off against an opponent ranked higher in the poll than them.
- Every opponent except one (UAlbany) left on the Orange's 2022 schedule is at least receiving votes in this week's USILA Poll.
PINCH AND PHAUP
- Jakob Phaup enters Saturday's game ranked third nationally in ground balls per game (8.7) after being one of the top-faceoff men in the nation through the early part of the season.
- He is one of the nation's most experienced faceoff men as well. His 775 faceoffs taken represents the 11th-most nationally among active players, while his 459 wins is 10th.Â
- Only Petey LaSalla (1,080) and Zach Tucci (926) have more career attempts in the ACC.
- He won .582 percent of his faceoffs thus far in 2022, a mark that ranks 18th nationally. He and 'Cuse have won more faceoffs than their opponent in five of the first-seven games.
STRONG IN LEAGUE
- Since joining the ACC, Syracuse has the second-best record in regular season league games (18-14) and also has two ACC Tournament titles. Duke holds a 19-12 record in that time to lead all teams. Notre Dame (16-15), North Carolina (16-16) and Virginia (10-23) make up the remaining records.
