Orange Tabbed 7th in IRA Coaches Poll

Heading into the first race of the spring season, Syracuse's varsity eight crew is ranked No. 7 in the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Coaches Poll. All seven of Syracuse's scheduled head-to-head opponents this spring are ranked in the Week 1 Poll.
The Orange make their spring debut on the west coast this weekend when they travel to Redwood City, Calif., to face No. 2 Washington, No. 8 Stanford and No. 18 Oregon State at Redwood Shores. Last season, 'Cuse finished fourth overall at the IRA Championship in a season that some teams didn't compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first racing of the IRA Regatta since 2019.Â
The varsity eight will be accompanied on the trip by the second varsity eight (2V8+), which is ranked No. 8 in the IRA Coaches 2V8 Poll.Â
Additionally, the third varsity eight, who scrimmaged Colgate this past weekend, is ranked No. 8 in the 3V8+ poll.Â
