The 2023 portion of the Syracuse track and field schedule kicks off on Friday at the Virginia Tech Invitational.

About the Meet:
It'll be the first meet of the new year for the Orange and will welcome competition from across the east coast.
Army West Point, Charlotte, High Point, Liberty, NC State, Richmond, Virginia, VCU, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest all have athletes competing this weekend.
Friday Entries:
Action gets underway on Friday night with the Orange entered in the 60-meter dashes, 60-meter hurdles and Elijah Mallard representing the Orange in the 300-meters to close the night.
The women's 60-meter hurdles opens the meet at 6:05 p.m. Shaleah Colaire and Peyton Rollins will race for the Orange. 2022 All-American Jaheem Hayles will then make his season debut, joined by Naseem Smith and Anthony Vazquez in the men's race at 6:20.
Those who advance to the finals will run at 7:45 (women) and 7:55 (men), respectively.
Kaleia Arrington, Morgan Marshall, Kahniya James and Rollins are all entered in the 60-meter dash at 6:30. The men's races will follow 10 minutes later with Trei Thorogood and Daijon Richards representing the Orange.
The 60-meter dash finals will immediately follow the prelims.
Mallard's race will close the evening at 8:35.
Saturday Entries:
'Cuse will compete in the 200s on Saturday to wrap up the meet.
Colaire, Arrington and Rollins are set to race for the second-straight day in the women's race at 2:15. James Nmah and Carlton Landingham will wrap up the meet at 2:30.
