11/9/2023 5:18:00 PM | Women's Basketball
Syracuse women's basketball looks to keep the momentum rolling this Friday night, Oct. 11, as the Orange take on the Central Connecticut at 7 p.m. inside of the JMA Wireless Dome. The game will be streamed live on ACC Network with Ian Nicholas and Jesse Cook on the call.
'Cuse handled business in the season opener Tuesday night against Lafayette, securing a 75-41 victory over the Leopards. The win marked the first time three Orange players registered a double-double in the same game since January 2021, led by fifth-year guard Dyaisha Fair (17 pts, 11 reb) and graduate guard Alaina Rice (10 pts, 11 reb). Freshman Alyssa Latham rounded out the trio with 15 points and 10 rebounds, becoming the first Orange freshman to have a double-double in her college debut since Digna Strautmane in the 2017-18 season opener.
The Orange will meet the Central Connecticut Blue Devils for the fifth time in history Friday night. The Blue Devils come to town after a 52-35 loss in their season opener against Manhattan College. The JMA Wireless Dome will be the Blue Devils' second stop on a four game road series to start their regular season. This will be the first match up since December 5, 2021, when Syracuse defeated CCSU 116-65 while scoring the most points in Dome history.
Fans unable to attend the game can watch live on ACC Network Extra which can be streamed online or through the ESPN app.
