Track Season Kicks off this Weekend

The Syracuse track and field teams will begin their 2023-24 campaign at a pair of meets this weekend.

Some members of the Orange are headed to Boston for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday, while a large portion of the roster races at Cornell's Greg Page Relays from Friday-Saturday.

Orange Entries:
Action gets underway on Friday at 5 p.m. with the men's 60-meter dash. Carlton Landingham, James Nmah, Trei Thorogood and Daijon Richards will race from 'Cuse in that event. Fifteen minutes later, the women will race, where SU has Kaleia Arrington, Olivia Garner, Kahniya James and Morgan Marshall entered.

The finals of each of those events will take place later that evening at 6 and 6:05 p.m., respectively.

'Cuse competition will resume on Saturday, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Vanessa Ramos and Kayla Harding are set to run in the mile.

The 60-meter hurdles will begin at 12:45 p.m. with Isaiah Lewis, Emanuel Joseph, Samuel Mutiso, Anthony Vazquez, Elijah Mallard, Naseem Smith and Xayvion Perkins competing for the men. The women will see Sheridan McGadden, Olivia Etienvre, CJ Fox, Peyton Rollins, Kirstyn Schechter, Marissa Saunders and Taleea Buxton race.

Eamon Burke, Karmari Miller, Patrick Malone, Alex Herbst and Joey Hendershot will then take to the track at 1:10 p.m. for the men's 500-meter run. Madeline Lutz, Ariel Haywood and Lizzie Bigelow will compete 20 minutes later in the women's event.

After the finals of the 60-meter hurdles takes place at 1:50 p.m., Elijah Malard and Perkins will race in the 300-meter dash at 2 p.m. Schechter and Shayla Ford will race 30 minutes later for the women.

Orange Entries:
Ryder Kriley and Alexander Segarra will get things started shortly after Noon on Saturday in the men's 800-meter run.

Justus Holden-Betts, Siobhan O'Keefe will race for the women. Benne Anderson and Ruben Rojas Betanzos will take on the event for the men.

The remainder of the competitors will all run in the 5ks, which begin at 4:25 p.m. with the women's races. Sophia Jacobs-Townsley, Ellie Lawler, Rylie Lusk, Madison Neuner and Savannah Roark will compete in that race. Two hours later, Connor Ackley, Alex Comerford, Julian Franjieh, Assaf Harari, Sam Lawler, Perry Mackinnon and Gabriel Planty will compete.
