Orange Welcome Big Red for Hoops for the Holidays on Monday

Syracuse women's basketball looks to protect its undefeated home record on Monday against Cornell (5-4). The Orange meet the Big Red inside the JMA Wireless Dome on Monday, Dec. 18. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and will be available to stream on ACC Network Extra with Joe Puccio and Andrew Selover on the call.
It's Hoops for the Holidays in the Dome and fans attending are encouraged to show off their holiday spirit or wear their favorite ugly sweater.
Syracuse (8-1) has had a week to prepare for Monday's contest after defeating Ohio, 82-62, on the road Dec. 9. The Orange used a 23-7 run in the third quarter, with 16 points coming off turnovers, that opened a comfortable lead and secured the victory over the Bobcats. Saniaa Wilson had a career-high 18 points going a perfect 5-for-5 from the field with eight free throws on 10 attempts. The Orange enter Monday's game outscoring opponents by 21.1 points this season.
Dyaisha Fair's next point propels her into the NCAA Division I scoring all-time career list at No. 25 while her quest for 3,000 career points approaches. Fair enters Monday's game with 2,859 career points. Additionally, junior guard Georgia Woolley is closing in on 1,000 career points and enters the match-up with the Big Red with 42 points to go.Â
Cornell comes into the bout on the back of a 55-53 win over St. Bonaventure on Dec. 5. Freshman Rachel Kaus led the Big Red with 15 points to put Cornell above .500 and extend its win streak to three.
Monday marks the 21st contest between the two Central New York schools. 'Cuse leads the all-time series, 17-3, and has won the last eight meetings. Last time the two met SU secured an 85-55 win at the JMA Wireless Dome on Dec. 8, 2021.
