
Another School Record Falls at Cornell

For the second time in as many days, a new men's indoor school record was posted at Cornell's Greg Page Relays.
After Trei Thorogood tied the school record in the 60-meter dash on Friday, Elijah Mallard bested his own record from last season in the 300-meter dash with a time of 34.59 seconds.
Anthony Vazquez (7.94 seconds) posted the first win of the day for the Orange in the men's 60-meter hurdles. 'Cuse had five of the top-six finishers in the event. Emmanuel Joseph (7.99 seconds), Naseem Smith (8.06 seconds), David Peters (unattached - 8.13 seconds) and Xayvion Perkins (8.15 seconds) finished second, fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.
Mallard (8.33 seconds), Samuel Mutizo (8.38 seconds), and Isaiah Lewis (8.46 seconds) also raced in the prelims for the Orange.
Shaleah Colaire – racing unattached – finished second in the women's 60-meter hurdles (8.66 seconds), part of four 'Cuse women in the final. Peyton Rollins (8.85 seconds) finished fifth, followed one spot later by Marissa Saunders (9.11 seconds).
Taleea Buxton did not race in the final, but qualified with a time of 8.59 seconds in the prelims. Colaire also ran a strong prelim time of 8.56. CJ Fox (9.24 seconds), Olivia Etienvre (9.55 seconds), Sheridan McGadden (9.65 seconds) and Kirstyn Schechter (9.82 seconds) also competed in the event.
Vanessa Ramos got things started shortly after Noon with a 10th place finish in the women's mile (5:52.71). Kayla Harding was 21st.
Shayla Ford was seventh in the women's 300-meter run, crossing the line in 41.72 seconds. Schechter (43.20) was 20th.
The Orange had a host of competitors in the men's 500-meter run. Eamon Burke was the top finisher in 1:11.66, taking 11th, while Alex Herbst, Patrick Malone, Joey Hendershot and Kamari Miller finished 21st through 24th in succession. Ariel Haywood led the women's competitors in the 500, placing 10th in 1:35.90. Lizzie Bigelow (11th) and Madeline Lutz (14th) were next.
The Orange were also at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston on Saturday.
Savannah Roark led the way in the women's 5,000-meter run taking 26th in a personal best time of 15:45.24. Ellie Lawler (16:12.64), Sophia Jacobs-Townsley (16:18.23), Rylie Lusk (16:18.40) and Madison Neuner (16:34.99) also raced in the event.
Benne Anderson took 29th in a loaded 3000-meter run field of professionals and collegians. He crossed the line in 8:02.11. Teammate Ruben Rojas Betanzos was 92nd in 9:34.50. Justus Holden-Betts finished 72nd in the women's race. She turned in a time of 9:49.18. Siobhan O'Keefe was 10 spots behind in 9:54.02.
In the men's race, Sam Lawler (13:56.59) was the top Orange finisher in 80th. Alex Comerford (14:00.61), Assaf Harari (14:11.02) and Connor Ackley (14:14.54) also competed in the seeded section. Gabriel Planty (14:18.50) was ninth in the unseeded section, followed by Julian Franjieh (14:33.21) in 24th.
