
Track Resumes for 2024 Slate

The Syracuse track and field team will kick off the 2024 portion of their schedule after a month-long layoff since their last meet.

LAST TIME OUT:
Syracuse raced in a pair of meets, at the Greg Page Relays and Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on the first weekend of December. Trei Thorogood tied the 60-meter dash school record and Elijah Mallard set a new 300-meter dash record in the process.
MEET SCHEDULE/ENTRIES:
Action for the Orange at 12:50 p.m. in the women's 60-meter hurdles. Shaleah Colaire, Olivia Etienvre, Peyton Rollins and Taleea Buxton will race in the first round. Jaheem Hayles, David Peters, Isaiah Lewis, Naseem Smith, Anthony Vazquez, Samuel Mutiso and Emmanuel Joseph will run 15 minutes later.
Those who reach the finals will run at 2:30 p.m.
The second event on the docket for the Orange will be the 60-meter dashes at 1:15 p.m. Kahniya James, Kaleia Arrington, Olivia Garner and Morgan Marshall will all race in the same prelim heat for the women. The men will see Trei Thorogood, James Nmah, Carlton Landingham and Daijon Richards run. The finals of those events for those who qualify are right after the 60-meter hurdles.
Shayla Ford and Kirstyn Schechter will race in the 400-meter dash at 2:50, followed by Elijah Mallard in the men's race.
Arrington, Garner and Rollins will have their second event of the day start at 4:30 p.m. in the women's 200-meter dash. The men's event will feature Richards and Landingham.
The day will conclude with the 4x400-meter relays. Colaire, Ford, Arrington and Schechter will race at 5:55 p.m., before Thorogood, Nmah, Vazquez and Mallard wrap things up at 6:15 p.m.
Teams from Bucknell, Duquesne, George Mason, Georgetown, Lock Haven, Loyola, Maryland, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Robert Morris, St. Francis, St. Joseph's, Temple, UMBC, West Virginia and Youngstown State will be racing, in addition to the Orange.
